From raw to bead
Rough prehnite can have an uneven or granular-looking surface. Polishing rounds the material and increases surface reflection, often making its pale green body color and translucent areas more legible.
Origin & geology
Prehnite is a calcium aluminum silicate mineral. It commonly forms in cavities and fractures of basaltic rocks and in low-temperature hydrothermal environments, where it can grow as crystalline masses or botryoidal aggregates.
